A training video is now available for NCES' new IPEDS Data Center.

April 6, 2009 - Where in the World Are the Peer Analysis System and Dataset Cutting Tool? Announcing the Release of the IPEDS Data Center

The IPEDS Data Center is a "one-stop-shop" for retrieving IPEDS data. It replaces the Peer Analysis System (PAS) and Dataset Cutting Tool (DCT), but maintains all of the functionality of those tools. It also has new features to improve users' experiences and serves as an entry point to the Executive Peer Tool (ExPT) and IPEDS Data Analysis System (DAS).

March 31, 2009 - Proposed Changes to IPEDS 2009-10 and beyond

Please note: This document was revised on 3/31/09. An additional table for Student Financial Aid, calculation of net price by income categories, was added.

The following changes are being requested from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), to be effective beginning with the 2009-10 IPEDS data collection. There are two types of changes:

• Changes to comply with requirements in the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) of 2008 (PL 110-315), and
• Changes to simplify IPEDS reporting and reduce reporting burden for nondegree-granting institutions

January 14, 2009 - IPEDS EF and F Surveys will Remain Open between Winter and Spring Collection Periods

Although the Human Resources (HR) survey will close to Keyholders after Jan. 21, the Enrollment (EF) and Finance (F) surveys will remain open continuously through the period between the winter and spring collections, and (of course) during the spring collection.

August 22, 2008 - Changes to 2008-09 IPEDS due to passage of Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008

As a result of the recent passage of Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008, NCES will make changes to the IPEDS data collection for 2008-09, to comply with the legislated mandate to display these items on College Navigator by August 2009.

On October 19, 2007, the U.S. Department of Education posted to the Federal Register the "Final Guidance on Maintaining, Collecting and Reporting Data on Race and Ethnicity (R/E) to the U.S. Department of Education."

September 5, 2007 - IPEDS Fall 2007 data collection is now open
