Little Wood River WSA
General Location: About 10 miles southeast of Ketchum, Idaho in Blaine County.
Natural Features: Mountain terrain dissected by numerous drainages. Douglas-fir and quacking aspen at higher elevations.

Acres Supported by BLM for Wilderness Designation: 4,265
Rationale for BLM's Recommendation: Exceptional wilderness values and outstanding opportunities for solitude and primitive and unconfined recreation. This WSA is completely within the Elk Mountain Crucial Elk Winter Range Area of Critical Environmental Concern. This area is essential to the long-term survival of an elk herd of up to 400 animals.
