Aug 24, 2009 - Important Notice to CM/ECF and PACER Filers

CM/ECF services for the Texas Northern Bankruptcy Court will be unavailable during the following time:

Aug 17, 2009 - Clerk's Notice 09 - 04

A new form Order Authorizing Employment of Claims Agent (BTXN 209) is available on our website for your use. This form order outlines the duties and responsibilities of a claims agent and should be uploaded when an application to employ a claims agent is filed. This will help ensure uniformity and address the requirements of the clerk’s office and claims agent.

Aug 13, 2009 - June 2009 bankruptcy filings up 35 percent

In the 12-month period ending June 30, 2009, there were 1,306,315 bankruptcy cases filed in federal courts.  That is a 35 percent increase compared to filings for the 12-month period ending June 30, 2008 when cases totaled 967,831.

Aug 3, 2009 - Labor Day Closing

The United States Bankruptcy Court Clerk's Office for the Northern District of Texas will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2009, in observance of Labor Day.

The closing of the Clerk's office will not affect the court's Electronic Filing System, which will remain available during this time. For emergency filings, please refer to our Emergency Filing.

Jul 15, 2009 - Clerk's Notice 09-03

The bankruptcy judges of the Northern District of Texas have determined that court approval is required when a mortgage loan modification or refinancing occurs in a pending Chapter 13 case. In order to carry out this directive, the Clerk’s office has devised procedures to be followed when seeking approval for such an agreement. The procedures outlined below are effective immediately.
