Pesticide Planning and Results
EPA's Planning and Results provides information on the overall program direction and results of the enforcement and compliance assurance program. This section also provides reports on enforcement trends and progress and identifies measures and checklists used to evaluate program accomplishments. The national compliance data systems, which are the basis for the reports and analysis, and State and tribal activities in the enforcement and compliance area are also found in this area. More information is available from EPA about planning, results, data systems, states, and tribes.

Data Systems
The information that EPA uses to manage and assess performance of the Agency's enforcement and compliance assurance program is stored in more than a dozen data systems. These systems were built to support specific environmental statutes. In general, data in the systems is input by either EPA Regions or States. These systems are the primary source of information used in determining the state of environmental compliance. Pesticide-specific data systems follow:
- Section 7 Tracking System (SSTS) is the only automated system EPA uses to track pesticide producing establishments and the amount of pesticides they produce. SSTS records the registration of new establishments and records pesticide production at each establishment.
- The National Compliance Data Base System (NCDB) tracks regional compliance and enforcement activity and manages the Pesticides and Toxic Substances Compliance and Enforcement program at a national level. The system tracks all compliance monitoring and enforcement activities from the time an inspector conducts an inspection until the time a case is settled or closed.
- FIFRA/TSCA Tracking System (FTTS) - Data collected in the regional FTTS is transferred to NCDB to support the need for monitoring national performance of regional programs. FTTS provides tracking information relating to: inspections, referrals, case reviews, enforcement actions, settlement conditions, and State pesticide grant activity.
- The Integrated Compliance Information System (ICIS) supports the information needs of the National Enforcement and Compliance program as well as the unique needs of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program. ICIS will integrate data that is currently located in more than a dozen separate data systems. The Web-based system will eventually enable individuals from states, communities, facilities, and EPA to access integrated enforcement and compliance data from any desktop connected to the Internet. EPA's ability to target the most critical environmental problems will improve as the system integrates data from all media.
