Science and Technology: Rapid Prototyping of Countermeasures

This program accelerates the deployment of advanced prototypical technologies to address urgent needs for new homeland security protections. The program will assess prototypes and bring them to front-line personnel on an accelerated timeline once fully reviewed or reengineered.

  • Working to develop sensible, ambitious targets on the number of technologies brought to market.
  • Conducting independent evaluations to benchmark progress and ensure competitive sourcing practices are followed.
  • Proposing in the budget and working with Congress to consolidate the Emerging Threats and Rapid Prototyping portfolios into one office to increase efficiencies and better leverage assets of each.
