FY-2003 WHIP Unfunded Application Information

The following three maps display information on the Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP) applications for fiscal year 2003 that were not funded.

The program encourages creation of high quality wildlife habitats that support wildlife populations of National, State, Tribal, and local significance. The funding provides technical and financial assistance to landowners and others to develop upland, wetland, riparian, and aquatic habitat areas on their property. In FY-2003, NRCS allocated more than $16 million to enroll more than 2,000 contracts covering nearly 300,000 acres into the program. More than 3,600 applications were not funded in FY-2003, totaling more than $40 million and nearly 850,000 acres. Click on each map's Data link for detail information.
