As part of our continuing efforts to provide assistance to our grantees, the Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control will be hosting a Program Managers' School for all program managers on April 27-28 in Orlando, FL. The PMS begins at 1:30pm on Monday the 27th and concludes at 3:30pm on Tuesday the 28th. Register today!

Who should attend?

All program managers from all OHHLHC grant programs are encouraged to attend. New program managers and program managers of newly awarded 2008 grants are required to attend. The Program Managers' School will focus on key topics of interest to program managers to ensure the successful implementation of their grant with OHHLHC.

What to expect?

Each Program Managers' School addresses current issues and obstacles facing our grantees. Each year promises to address real-life topics that our program managers face in implementing their programs. Prior topics have included:

  • Designing Outreach and Recruitment Strategies that Attract Participants
  • Effectively Addressing the Need to Relocate Participants
  • Overcoming Common Challenges when Managing Sub-Grantees and Partners
  • Developing Methods for Tracking Program Activities
  • Ensuring Success in Meeting Financial Requirements
  • Building and Maintaining a Contractor Base
  • Documenting Income Requirements of Participants
  • Conducting Lead Hazard Control in Conjunction with Rehabilitation Activities

Get Connected

In addition to attending this great educational program, the School provides you the opportunity to network and discuss issues with veteran grant managers from across the country. Plan to stay for the Indoor Environmental Health and Technologies Conference where you'll hear from leading lead and healthy homes experts from around the country.

Travel expenses associated with the Program Managers' School are an eligible grant expense. Reserve your hotel room now at the Doubletree Hotel. Space is limited. Contact Eric Hornbuckle (OHHLHC) if you have further questions.

Note: The Program Managers' School is a separate event from the Indoor Environmental Health and Technologies Conference. OHHLHC is working in partnership with the Conference to provide hotel accommodations, but you must register for both events separately. To register for the Indoor Environmental Health and Technologies Conference, contact Steve Weil directly and mention you are an OHHLHC grantee in the subject line. The registration deadline has been extended for OHHLHC grantees.
