Assessment of Natural Resource Conservation Practice Effectiveness Within the Choptank River Watershed
Location: Hydrology and Remote Sensing Laboratory
2005 Annual Report
4d.Progress report.
This report serves to document research conducted under an Interagency reimbursable Agreement between the ARS-Environmental Quality Laboratory and USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service. Additional details of research can be found in the report for the parent project 1265-13610-019-00D entitled, "EVALUATING WATER QUALITY PROCESSES FOR DEVELOPMENT OF RISK ASSESSMENT AND DECISION SUPPORT TOOLS." In the last year, $150,000 was received to support a new project to determine the effectiveness of conservation practices in protecting water quality in the Choptank River Watershed, a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay. This funding was used to support a USDA research associate and for analytical and travel costs within the Environmental Quality Laboratory, and $70,383 was transferred to University of Maryland, Horn Point Environmental Laboratory via a new SCA 1265-13610-019-05S "EVALUATION OF CONSERVATION PRACTICE EFFECTIVENESS IN WATER QUALITY PROTECTION IN THE CHOPTANK RIVER WATERSHED" as part of the overall budget submitted to NRCS.
