Three Disaster Recovery Centers Closing This Week

Indianapolis, IN -- Federal officials have announced the closing of Disaster Recovery Centers in Marion, Vigo and Gibson counties this week. The Marion County Center will close at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2. Centers in Vigo and Gibson counties will be closed on July 4 but will reopen for one day on July 5.
"We encourage anyone who has applied for disaster assistance to visit the nearest center if at all possible," said Federal Coordinating Officer Gracia Szczech. "There are staff at each center who can provide information on the status of assistance applications, flood insurance, repair and rebuilding options and can help with completion of U.S. Small Business Administration loan materials."
The Marion County Disaster Recovery Center is in the Southwest Pavilion on the Indiana State Fair Grounds, at 1202 East 38th Street. The Vigo County Center is located in South Vigo County High School at 3737 South 7th Street in Terre Haute. The Gibson County Center is in the City Municipal Building at 310 W. State Street in Princeton. Centers hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all locations.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will open a Disaster Recovery Center in Dubois County on Tuesday, July 2 in the Southwest Dubois County Schools building at 113 N. Jackson in Huntingburg. This center will be open for a short time only, so those who have applied for disaster assistance and have questions about their applications, other types of assistance, or who need help with SBA loan packets are encouraged to stop by as soon as possible. The Dubois Center will be closed on Thursday, July 4 but otherwise open Monday thru Saturday until further notice.
Individual disaster assistance is now available to residents and business owners in these counties: Clay, Dubois, Gibson, Greene, Hamilton, Jefferson, Johnson, Knox, Marion, Martin, Montgomery, Owen, Parke, Perry, Pike, Posey, Putnam, Vigo and Washington.
Those in declared counties who suffered damage as a result of the storms and flooding that occurred from April 28 to June 7 may still apply for assistance by calling FEMA toll-free at 800 621-3362. Hearing or speech impaired individuals can call TTY 800 462-7585. Those who have already applied may call those same numbers to check on the status of their applications or to receive further information about assistance programs. Phone lines are open Monday thru Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time
