Indiana FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers Will Be Closed On Thanksgiving

NEWBURGH, Ind. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Indiana Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th. The DRCs will re-open Friday after Thanksgiving.

Normal business hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Seven days a week. DRCs in operation are:

Vanderburgh County
Mobile Recovery Center
Eastbrook Trailer Park
Evansville, Ind.

Warrick County
Bell Oaks Centre
8333 Bell Oaks Dr.
Newburgh, Ind.

The disaster assistance resource desk staffed at the Main Street Baptist Church at 623 East Main Street in Boonville has been relocated to the old Wal-mart store, 820 W. Main St. in Boonville. Hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., seven days a week. The resource desk will also be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Disaster victims are urged to register for assistance before visiting a DRC by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (TTY 1-800-462-7585 for the speech – or hearing-impaired) or online at www.fema.gov. Visitors to the Disaster Recovery Centers can talk face-to-face about recovery options with representatives from local, state and federal agencies, and volunteer organizations.

FEMA prepares the nation for all hazards and manages federal response and recovery efforts following any national incident. FEMA also initiates mitigation activities, trains first responders, works with state and local emergency managers, and manages the National Flood Insurance Program.
