West Salem, WI -- The FEMA teleregistration line, Helpline, and the TTY line for those with hearing and speech impairment will be closed on Sunday and Monday for the Memorial Day holiday, emergency officials announced.

FEMA created the toll-free registration line and Helpline for victims of the recent flooding to apply for federal and state assistance. The lines are currently open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., through Saturday. After the holiday, they will again operate Tuesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and then Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. until further notice.

The teleregistration number is 1-800-462-9029, and 1-800-462-7585(TTY) for those with hearing and speech impairment. The Helpline number is 1-800-525-0321 and 1-800-462-7585(TTY) for flood victims are urged to apply.
