Disaster Recovery Center in Neenah to Stay Open

West Salem, WI -- Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) officials will keep the Disaster Recovery Center in Neenah open until Tuesday, July 3.
The center is intended to help residents who suffered storm or flood damage with their applications for disaster assistance. It is located at the Neenah Police Department Community Room, 2111 Marathon Avenue, Neenah.
Hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. The center will be closed on Sunday.
"We want to be sure that everyone who needs in--person assistance can get to the center," WEM Deputy Administrator Al Shanks said.
"If you haven't registered yet for disaster assistance, call FEMA's toll--free registration line -- 1--800--462--9029 -- before you go to the Disaster Recovery Center," said Tom Davies of FEMA, the federal coordinating officer for the Wisconsin disaster recovery.
Homeowners, renters and businesses in 15 Wisconsin counties are eligible for disaster assistance under President Bush's May 11 disaster declaration for severe storms and flooding in April. The declaration has been expanded to include the June 11 storms and the June 18 tornado.
Representatives of government agencies and volunteer organizations are at the Disaster Recovery Center with information about disaster assistance programs, health issues, insurance claims, U.S. Small Business Administration loan applications and other recovery issues.
