FINDLAY, Ohio -- Time is running out to apply for Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA).

People who are out of work as a result of the recently declared disaster have until next Wednesday, Sept. 26, to apply with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Applicants can call 1-877-644-6562 (877-OHIO-JOB) from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

DUA eligibility applies to people who do not qualify for regular unemployment and who, as a result of the disaster:

Applicants will need to provide their Social Security number, drivers license or state ID number, and the names, addresses and telephone numbers of all employers within the last 18 months.

FEMA manages federal response and recovery efforts following any national incident. FEMA also initiates mitigation activities, works with state and local emergency managers, and manages the National Flood Insurance Program. FEMA became part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on March 1, 2003.
