LA CROSSE, Wis. -- In order to meet the ongoing needs in Vernon and nearby counties, the temporary Disaster Recovery Center will re-open in Viroqua on Monday, Sept. 17 and operate through Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007.

The Vernon County Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will be located at Living Faith Church, 852 North Main Street, Viroqua, WI 54665. This DRC will be open Monday from noon until 7 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. The center will close on Thurs., Sept. 20, at 7 p.m.

Disaster Recovery Centers offer a single location where many types of recovery information are available and people are able to talk face-to-face with disaster recovery specialists. Visitors can receive help filling out disaster loan applications from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) or check on the status of disaster assistance applications. Anyone affected by the flooding is urged to register their damage online anytime at www.fema.gov or by calling the toll-free telephone line, 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., daily. For those with special speech or hearing needs, the TTY number is 1-800-462-7585.
