LA CROSSE, Wis. -- The Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) in Crawford and La Crosse Counties will close on Saturday, September 15 at 7 p.m. The centers currently operate 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Until they close, the DRCs at the North Crawford High School, 47050 County Road X, Soldiers Grove, WI and at Town of Shelby Town Hall, 2801 Ward Ave., La Crosse, WI will be staffed by representatives of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) and voluntary agencies to provide information to residents affected by the severe storms and flooding that occurred August 18-31.

In addition to disaster assistance, representatives can help individuals develop plans to protect their homes and/or businesses from future storm damage and provide information about federal flood insurance programs.

Anyone affected by the flooding is urged to register their damage online anytime at www.fema.gov or by calling the toll-free telephone line, 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., daily. For those with special speech or hearing needs, the TTY number is 1-800-462-7585.

Homeowners, renters and business owners may visit the Crawford and La Crosse locations while they are open with questions concerning SBA disaster loan applications. Anyone receiving an SBA loan application is encouraged to complete and return it as quickly as possible to maintain their eligibility for FEMA grants and SBA loans.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
