MADISON, Wis. -- All Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) and Mobile DRCs (MDRCs) will be closed on Sunday beginning July 13.  Operations will continue, according to schedule, Monday through Saturday until further notice.

"We are far enough along in the operations of our DRCs and MDRCs that there is a noticeable decline in the number of applicants coming in over the weekends, especially on Sunday," said Federal Coordinating Officer Dolph Diemont. "We will continue to provide services to those in need on Saturdays as well as weekdays."

Anyone affected is urged to call the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) toll-free helpline, 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) to register (those with speech or hearing impairments can call TTY 1-800-462-7585) from 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. daily until further notice. Register online at www.fema.gov  24 hours a day.

"Although individuals are asked to register with FEMA prior to going to DRCs or MDRCs," said Wisconsin Emergency Management Administrator Johnnie Smith, "anyone is welcome to visit any center now open to find out what disaster assistance may be available to them and, if they have not already registered, can do so at the center."

Listings of both DRCs and MDRCs now operating throughout the disaster area are attached. Note that days and times of operations have changed for MDRCs.
