This section describes feedback the NOAA FOIA Office received from several organizations/agencies. 

OMB Watch

In accordance with a study published by OMB Watch, a nonprofit watchdog agency, in April 1998, NOAA was the only Federal agency (at that time) that complied with ALL of the requirements of the Electronic FOIA Amendments.  This report was based on the examination of 135 Federal Electronic FOIA Web Sites to determine the level of compliance to the 1996 Amendments.
 

Office of Information and Privacy, U. S. Department of Justice

The Office of Information and Privacy published feedback on NOAA's FOIA Home Page in FOIA Update, Vol. XIX,   No. 1, NOAA Develops User-Friendly Web Site for FOIA which can be retrieved from the following link:      http://www.usdoj.gov/oip/foia_updates/Vol_XIX_1/xixpage2.htm
 

Defense Mapping Agency

In 1996, the Defense Mapping Agency, Ralph Nader's FOIA Clearinghouse, the National Security Archive, individual members of Congress, and FOIA requesters honored NOAA for having a "best in class" FOIA Program.
 

Various Federal Agencies

NOAA FOIA Office received positive comments from FOIA Officers in several Federal agencies on the structure, completeness, and friendliness of the home page.
