Oklahoma City, OK -- Under the disaster declaration of May 10, Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) has been made available to residents who live or work in the nine Oklahoma counties of Canadian, Cleveland, Grady, Kingfisher, Lincoln, Logan, McClain, Oklahoma and Pottawatomie.

To be eligible for DUA, as a result of the severe storms and tornadoes that began on May 8, applicants must:

The first payable week for DUA related to this disaster is May 11, 2003.

DUA applications will only be taken for a 30-day period. The deadline for filing is June 14, 2003.

This special DUA program is funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and administered by the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission.
