Oklahoma City, OK -- State and federal officials announce the counties of Lincoln and Osage eligible for Public Assistance based on a review of damage data gathered by federal and state disaster recovery officials.

On May 10, President George W. Bush declared nine counties (Canadian, Cleveland, Grady, Kingfisher, Lincoln, Logan, McClain, Oklahoma and Pottawatomie) eligible for individual assistance and the counties of Cleveland and Oklahoma eligible for Public Assistance to assist with debris removal and emergency protective measures.

Under the May 14 amendment, all four counties (Cleveland, Lincoln, Oklahoma and Osage) will be eligible for Public Assistance in all seven categories that include assistance for debris removal, emergency protective measures, and the repair of roads, bridges and public facilities damaged by the severe storms and tornadoes that began on May 8.

"Our public services and facilities are our greatest resource," said State Coordinating Officer Larry Culp. "We are pleased that these entities will be getting the assistance they need."
