In January 2007, Anna Kindermann assumed the role of Acting Director of the Division of Program Management, Office on Women's Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In this role, Ms. Kindermann is responsible for setting priorities for the planning, monitoring, and direction of multi-year contracts and grants as well as for program planning and evaluation. Additionally, Ms. Kindermann is the Project Officer for the Rural Frontier Women's Health Coordinating Centers.
Ms. Kindermann joined the Office on Women's Health in 1996, assisting in the administration of the National Action Plan on Breast Cancer (NAPBC). She served as coordinator for the NAPBC Steering Committee and administration, overseeing the Plan's budget and information dissemination activities, and as Project Officer for the NAPBC core support contract through the Plan's completion in October 2000.
Ms. Kindermann began her career in Federal service on Capitol Hill in 1990, serving as Counsel to the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging. Her focus included issues relating to the Older Americans Act of 1965, advance directives, and guardianship. She joined the Department of Health and Human Services in 1993 as a Legislative and Policy Analyst for the Administration on Aging, working on issues including older women, future retirees and disability.
Ms. Kindermann received her B.A. in Classics from Connecticut College and her J.D. from Washington University School of Law, St. Louis, Missouri.
