CIESIN Demographic Data Cartogram Service (DDCarto): Provided by Columbia University, includes information on Ohio.

Ohio Office of Strategic Research: The Ohio Department of Development, provides data on economic, industrial, and demographic trends. This site contains graphs and tables of county, MSA, and state data (much of it from Census 2000) for topics such as employment, housing, migration, and poverty.

Ohio Demographic, Labor Force, and Industry Trends: The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services publishes reports of demographic, labor force, and industry trends for regions, counties, and MSAs in Ohio, mostly in Adobe Acrobat .pdf format.

Ohio Demographic, Social, Educational, and Economic Profiles: Ohio State University Extension Data Center posts tables and graphs of demographic, social, educational, and economic profiles for each county.

Statistical Abstract: Ohio publishes a statistical abstract every year or few years. The Census Bureau publishes a guide to the most recent editions.

Office of Social and Economic Trend Analysis: Office at Iowa State University, which "collects, analyzes, interprets, and disseminates information on social, economic, and demographic trends," is a well-organized site containing county-level data for states in the Midwestern region; information is most complete for Iowa but a selection of Census information for other Midwestern states, such as Ohio, is also easily accessible through this site.

USDA Food and Nutrition Service: Ohio

Ohio Department of Health: The Statistics section of the Ohio Department of Health posts county statistics on communicable and chronic diseases, immunizations, vital statistics, access to care, and more in its "Information Warehouse."

Ohio Department of Education: Publishes extensive though not readily interpretable data regarding school achievement testing, student demographics, and federal subsidies for counties and school districts.

Ohio School District Demographics: This links to the main page for the maps. Select "Ohio" and proceed. Provided by the National Center for Education Statistics.

Annie E. Casey Foundation Kidscount CLIKS database: Provides county, city, and community level indicators of children's well-being in Ohio. The site allows users to create specific tables and graphs in many combinations and comparative formats; data were assembled through the national Kidscount Network, and the availability of particular indicators varies among states.

Kaiser Family Foundation Heath Facts: Provides health statistics on programs such as Medicaid.

National Child Care Information Center: Provides demographic information about the children, families and child care in Ohio, as well as contact information for different state agencies involved in child care. The profiles also contain links to additional state and national resources.

Case Center for Policy Studies: The Case Center for Policy Studies at Case Western Reserve University endeavors to stimulate greater interest in policy issues at Case and greater interaction among policy scholars and the public at large.

Center for Family and Demographic Research: The Center for Family and Demographic Research at Bowling Green State University focuses its research on high-risk populations and involves multidisciplinary and multimethod investigations that have policy relevance.

Center for Health Outcomes, Policy and Evaluation Studies (HOPES): HOPES, at Ohio State University, responds to the needs of health care policy decision-makers at local, state and national levels in both private and public sectors.

Center for Interdisciplinary Law and Policy Studies: The Center for Interdisciplinary Law and Policy Studies at Ohio State University (CILPS) promotes interdisciplinary programs of research, teaching, and public outreach in order to address the social opportunities and challenges in which law can play a constructive role.

Center for Urban and Regional Analysis: The Center for Urban and Regional Analysis at Ohio State University conducts research on urban and regional issues.

Center on Urban Poverty and Social Change: The Center on Urban Poverty and Social Change at Case Western Reserve University seeks to address the problems of persistent and concentrated urban poverty, the effects of social and economic changes on low-income communities, and how living in these communities affects the well-being of their residents.

Institute for Policy Research: The IPR at the University of Cincinnati is a multidisciplinary research organization composed of three research centers. Their website contains links to the Centers, provides detailed information about the IPR and staff, and press releases on the most recent Polls.

John Glenn Institute for Public Service and Public Policy: In addition to conducting research illuminating international policy issues, The John Glenn Institute at Ohio State University supports data collection and research informing policy directions within the state of Ohio.
