Hawks eliminate Canucks with 7-5 win in Game 6 The Blackhawks advanced to the Western Conference finals for the first time since 1995 with a 7-5 victory over the Vancouver Canucks tonight at the United Center. Patrick Kane led the way with a hat trick as the Hawks exploded for four goals in the decisive third period. They now await the winner of the Red Wings-Ducks series.

Batten down the hatches, mateys! Aaargh! Is it just us or is Chicago under siege by pirates and pirate ships? No need to call the Coast Guard or alert Mayor Daley, though. On Friday, Six Flags Great America's newest water ride, Buccaneer Battle, has its first ship set sail. "The ride was designed to be very family-friendly," says Six Flags spokeswoman Brooke Gabbert. "The minimum height requirement is 42 inches, and it's a great addition for when you're in the park on a hot day and want to get blasted with water."
