Abstract

Special Collections in the Fordham Health Sciences Library at Wright State University maintains collections in local medical history; aerospace medicine and human factors engineering; the medical artifact collection; archives of the School of Medicine and health-related departments and schools; and the rare book collection. Special Collections is the depository for the Archives of the Aerospace Medical Association, the Space Medicine Branch, the Flight Nurses Section, and the Society of NASA Flight Surgeons. SERVICES: reference questions dealing with the department's holdings; photocopying.

Rare books: 568; Oral History: 24; Medical Instruments and Artifacts: 796; Picture Collection: 2,964; Archives: 250 linear feet. Manuscripts: Ross A. McFarland Collection in Aerospace Medicine and Human Factors Engineering: 222 linear feet; H.A. Hasbrook Collection in Aviation Crash Injury Research: 90 linear feet; Stan Roscoe Aviation Psychology Collection: 75 linear feet; William Thornton Collection of Space and Life Sciences: 325 linear feet (approx.); and, the International Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine: 22 linear feet (approx.).
