DESC: The US Census Bureau extends an invitation to the vendor community to attend a pre-solicitation conference, for the purpose of disseminating information in the form of a draft of the Request for Proposal, and a discussion of the acquisition process being undertaken. A draft of the RFP will be released via the Census Bureau Word Wide Web Site at http://www/census.gov/procur/www/rd2007 on June 5, 2001 prior to the Pre-Solicitation Conference. The Pre-Solicitation Conference is scheduled for Thursday, June 7, 2001, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Morris Hansen Auditorium, 4700 Silver Hill Road, Suitland, MD 20746. For security reasons, interested vendors must sign up prior to attending the conference and are encouraged to arrive not later than 1:00 pm the day of the conference. In order to attend the conference, vendors shall submit: 1) the name and address of the firm, 2) name, telephone number, facsimile number and e-mail address of the firm's designated point of contact. Due to seating limitations, vendors will be limited to 2 attendees. Requests will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Interested vendors are requested to sign up no later than May 25, 2001 beginning the date of this notice through web site link: acq.r&d;.2007@census.gov. If driving, attendees must check in at the guard station located at the main entrance to the Census Bureau. The main entrance to the Census Bureau is at the intersection of Silver Hill Road and Swann Road. Consider guest parking a challenge for this conference and take the recently opened Green Line Metro to the Suitland Metro stop. Take the escalator to the 2nd floor, past the parking lot complex, to gate number 8 near Federal Building #3. Use Guest Entrance at FB#3, through the metal detector. Turn right down the hall until you arrive at the Morris Hansen Auditorium on the left. Questions received at the conference will be posted on the R&D 2007 website referenced. The US Census Bureau has a requirement for the acquisition of Research and Development services in six major areas: 1) Assessment, Planning and Analysis; 2) Statistical Analysis; 3) Technology Services; 4) Methodological Research; 5) Sub Populations; 6) Data Analysis and Dissemination commencing on or about June 2002. Multiple Awards are anticipated. Task Orders will be issued in individual areas. A fixed price, indefinite quantity, labor hour contact is anticipated. The Census Bureau anticipates this acquisition to be for a base period of one year with four additional one- year option periods. The North American Industry Classification System Code for this acquisition is 54169. The solicitation is anticipated to be released through the use of the Internet after July 6, 2001. As part of any response to the solicitation, Census Bureau anticipates requesting past performance information be submitted not later than fifteen (15) days after issuance of the solicitation. Relevant information as well as issuance of the solicitation shall be provided only through the use of the Internet. This information will be available on the Census Bureau World Wide Web Site at http://www/census.gov/procur/www/rd2007.
