Employees being impacted by Reduction In Force may be considered for both occupied and unoccupied (vacant) positions. Such employees must normally meet the minimum qualification requirements (although these can sometimes be waived) of positions they are being considered for. Assignment rights are usually determined based upon the rules of bumping and retreating.
