Golden Gate National Parks News Releases Now Available Via RSS Feed

(San Francisco, CA)—Golden Gate National Parks’ (GGNRA) Public Affairs Office is pleased to announce that its news releases are now available via RSS feed. RSS (Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary) technology allows you to easily stay informed by retrieving the latest content from the web sites you are interested in so that you don’t have to regularly check each site.

You will need to have RSS reader software (a program that collects and displays RSS feeds) in order to subscribe to GGNRA news releases. If you already have this software, or if you are using a web browser that has it built in, you can subscribe to the park’s news releases by going to Golden Gate National Parks web site at: www.nps.gov/goga/parknews/newsreleases.htm and clicking on “Subscribe” next to the RSS symbol.

At this time, all GGNRA news releases will continue to be distributed by fax to all who are on the park’s fax distribution list as well as being available via RSS feed.

If you would like to learn more about what RSS feeds are and how to use them, you can visit www.usa.gov/Topics/Reference_Shelf/Libraries/RSS_Library.shtml

Basalt pillows

Did You Know?
Geologists sometimes call Franciscan pillow basalt “greenstone” because it contains green minerals formed in an interaction between the basalt and hot, mineral-rich seawater.
