Information Management Division
Included in Information Management are the Records Management, Privacy, Section 508, Information Quality, Web Management and the Freedom of Information Act Programs. The program focus is on addressing statutory training, develop essential guidelines, provide bureau/office oversight, and ensure that e-Government initiatives are compliant with information statutes and Government requirements. The Information Management Division's Strategic Goal is to create an effective Knowledge Sharing Environment, safeguarding records, privacy, and accessibility according to Federal regulations & system enforced regulations.
Information Management creates an effective knowledge sharing environment while at the same time safeguarding records, privacy, and accessibility. The President’s Management agenda directs agencies to think seriously about how they will use citizens' data and incorporate that thinking as they plan new systems and upgrades. The Office of Management and Budget guidelines, the E-Government Act of 2002, Federal Information Security Management Act, and information management statutes mandate standards and restrictions for information maintained by the Government.
