- Diuron is an herbicide that inhibits photosynthesis and is considered to have low toxicity in mammals.
- OSHA does not have a PEL for diuron. 3. EPA’s oral reference dose (daily oral exposure likely to be without an appreciable risk of deleterious effects during a lifetime) of diuron is 0.002 mg/kg/day.
- Blood and urinary metabolites identified in a human diuron overdose case included 1-(3,4-diphenyl)-3-methylurea and 1-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)urea.
