MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO FOUR BANK ROBBERIES

KANSAS CITY, KAN. – John Earl Hall, 44, pleaded guilty Monday to a series of bank robberies in Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas.

Hall pleaded guilty to three counts of armed robbery and one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.

In his plea, he admitted committing the following bank robberies:

– Aug. 8, 2006, the First Community Bank, 101 West Main Street, Hardy, Ark.
– Aug. 15, 2006, Bank of Bloomsdale, 55 Mill Road, Bloomsdale, Mo.

– Aug. 24, 2006, Adrian Bank, Adrian, Mo.

– Sept. 6, 2006, First Option Bank, 502 E. Market, LaCygne, Kan.

In each of the robberies, Hall was carrying a gun. During the robbery at First Community Bank, for instance, he told a clerk to “keep your hands where I can see them” or he would shoot her.

Sentencing is set for Sept. 29, 2008, before U.S. District Judge John W. Lungstrum. Prosecutors have agreed to recommend to Lungstrum that Hall receive a sentence of 194 months in federal prison.

U.S. Attorney Eric Melgren commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Assistant U.S. Attorney Tris Hunt for their work on the case.
