PART OWNER OF TURNKEY NETWORK SOLUTIONS, INC. GETS JAIL TIME


JANUARY 30, 2009 - GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan
–Douglas Lautenbach, 41, of Caledonia, Michigan, was sentenced to 78 months imprisonment, followed by two years of supervised release, announced U.S. Attorney Donald A. Davis. U.S. District Court Judge Robert Holmes Bell also ordered Lautenbach to perform 300 hours of community service and pay restitution of over $4.7 million, with a majority of it to be paid to U.S. Signal and over $207,000 due to the Internal Revenue Service. This sentence was imposed as the result of an August 6, 2008 guilty plea to mail fraud and filing a false tax return, signed under penalties of perjury.

U.S. Attorney Davis was joined in the announcement by Special Agent in Charge Maurice Aouate, Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation Division (IRS CID) and Special Agent in Charge Andrew Arena, Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Douglas Lautenbach, along with Barry Raterink, 43, of Middleville, Michigan, and Timothy Hall, 48, of Grandville, Michigan, participated in a scheme to illegally sell stolen property from U.S. Signal, Inc.

On January 6, 2009, Barry Raterink was sentenced to 60 months imprisonment, followed by two years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay restitution of over $4.7 million, with over $200,000 of it to be paid to the Internal Revenue Service.

On January 12, 2009, Timothy Hall was sentenced to 46 months of imprisonment, followed by two years of supervised release. He was also ordered to perform 250 hours of community service and pay restitution of over $4.7 million, with over $192,000 if it due immediately to the Internal Revenue Service.

This case was investigated by special agents of the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigations Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigations. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Michael MacDonald, Heath M. Lynch, and Matthew G. Borgula.
