Oregon Caves Needs Lint Pickers
In conjunction with the 2008 Public Lands Day, Oregon Caves National Monument is hosting a day of cave restoration. We are looking for volunteers to join us on Saturday, September 27 to pick lint along the tour route of Oregon Caves.

Telephone Service Restored to Oregon Caves
Telephone service was restored to Oregon Caves after a nearly 7 month interruption caused by the theft of over one mile of telephone cable in November 2007.  The park’s main telephone number 541-592-2100 is now active on a limited basis, as is the phone number for the Chateau at 541-592-3400.

Oregon Caves Community Open House June 23, 2007
On Saturday, June 23, Oregon Caves National Monument will be hosting its annual Community Open House with free admission for the general tour of the cave and an opportunity for visitors to enjoy the historic lodge and its restaurants, Ranger programs, and nature walks through an old-growth forest.

the Cascade Grotto's volunteers
For the past four years Hester Mallonée, of the Cascade Grotto, a Washington State branch of the National Speleological Society, has coordinated volunteers from the organization to clean the formations at Oregon Caves.

The rock wall and water fall taken in this 1930s photo are the same you see today when you visit the Oregon Caves chateau.  

Did You Know?
Most of the rock work seen around the historic district of Oregon Caves was made by Civilian Conservation Corps crews.
