Victim-Witness Assistance

The Federal Victim-Witness Program and the United States Attorney’s office for the Eastern District of Kentucky are committed to providing assistance and services to victims of federal crimes. The program insures that victims and witnesses are treated with fairness and advocates for victims rights, dignity, and respect.

The Victim Witness Coordinator for the district is Georgette Lilly and questions may be directed to her by calling 859-233-2661, during normal business hours. In case of an emergency and you cannot reach Ms. Lilly, dial -0- for the operator, who will direct your call appropriately.

History

This office developed a Victim-Witness Program to ensure that victims of Federal crimes are treated with fairness and respect as they journey through the Federal criminal justice system. The program carries out the mandates of the Federal Victim and Witness Protection Act of 1982, the Victims Rights’ and Restitution Act of 1990, the Victims of Child Abuse Act of 1990 and the Justice for All Act of 2004.
