Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) provide the means for storing, querying, analyzing, correlating, modeling and displaying digital cartographic data, remotely sensed imagery, and geographically referenced field survey and sampling data.

The Montana/Dakotas GIS has implemented the EGIS infrastructure.  Our data is being migrated to a central repository housed at the state office; work towards this goal began over three years ago and is finally coming to fruition.
