Disclosure without Consent to State Auditors under FERPA (Dec 18, 2008)
On December 9, 2008, the Department published final regulations amending the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). The final regulations did not include proposed amendments concerning the disclosure of education records without consent to State auditors. We are seeking further public comment to help us develop guidance or new regulations on the issue, and will provide guidance on a case-by-case basis in the interim.
