San Francisco, CA -- Federal, state, local and voluntary agencies have been working in partnership to help Napa County residents following the recent earthquake of September 3. The following is a summary of ongoing response and recovery efforts as of the close of registration for disaster assistance, November 30:

Citizens may still obtain a Napa City building permit for earthquake related repairs from LP2A at 903 Enterprise Way, until December 31, 2000. The City has waived the costs for building permits for earthquake repairs until December 31.

Victims who have registered for assistance may call the FEMA toll-free Helpline for questions on how to appeal the amount of a grant, additional earthquake damage discovered after the initial inspection, submission of documents, unmet or special needs and status of registration. You may also contact the Helpline if you missed registering during the registration period of September 14 to November 30, 2000. The numbers are 1-800-525-0321 or TTY 1-800-462-7585 for the hearing or speech impaired.
