Program for International Student Assessment (PISA)

Partners

Complex projects such as PISA cannot be accomplished by only one agency or organization. Throughout the course of PISA, the National Center for Education Statistics works with multiple partners.

PISA is a program of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) The OECD Secretariat has overall managerial responsibility for the program, monitors its implementation, acts as the secretariat for the PISA Governing Board, builds consensus among countries and serves as the interlocutor between the PISA Governing Board and the international consortium charged with the implementation of the activities.
As leader of the international PISA consortium, the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) manages the international implementation of PISA.
RTI International managed the United States implementation of PISA 2006.
Westat managed the United States implementation of PISA 2000 and 2003 and is conducting the sampling and data collection in 2009 as a subcontractor to Windwalker Corporation.
Windwalker Corporation manages the U.S. implementation of PISA 2009.
