North Cascades NPSC welcomes Spring Artist in Residence to Stehekin
The North Cascades National Park Complex Artist-in-Residence program hosts artist Heather Biermann to Stehekin for the month of May. Heather works with botanical dyes and practices photography, printmaking, bookmaking and the occasional poem.

North Cascades National Park Complex welcomes spring visitors. Spring is the time to visit North Cascades National Park Complex to witness an explosion of valley wildflowers and waterfalls raging from snowmelt. This is also the time to see birds migrating and wildlife emerging from winter dens.

Bridge installed over the North Fork of the Cascade River
On April 14, a new bridge was installed on Cascade River Road to provide summer access to Cascade Pass. North Cascades National Park maintenance crews, with the assistance of two local construction companies, successfully installed a new bridge on the Cascade River Road over the North Fork of the Cascade River.

Climate Friendly Parks workshops in Washington National Parks
Climate friendly partnerships kick off with workshops that include local government, scientists, park staff and others in climate discussions and action plan proposals. Washington’s three national parks, Mount Rainier, North Cascades and Olympic National Parks will host diverse groups of community leaders, scientists and business people at three Climate Friendly Park workshops to be held this month.

Mountain Lakes Fisheries Management Plan Finalized
Mountain Lakes Fishery Management Plan Record of Decision This action if approved by Congress will eliminate high densities of reproducing fish populations from select lakes and allow low densities of reproducing fish populations to remain in others. Non-reproducing fish will be stocked in certain lakes provided impacts to biological resources can be minimized. Lakes that are currently fishless will remain fishless. Up to 42 lakes may be stocked or otherwise remain fishable.
