FAQ Question and Answer

Question:
How do I bookmark my favorite pages?

Response:
Most web browsers allow users to create bookmarks. These allow users to return to a URL previously visited on the Web. Once you have added a bookmark, it's simple to return to a preferred page. If you would like to add nces.ed.gov or any of our other pages to your bookmark page, select from the instructions (separated by browser type) below:

  • Netscape: To bookmark the page that you are currently viewing, click the "Bookmarks" pull-down menu at the top of your screen and select "Add Bookmark." The title of the page you've selected will automatically appear in the text field at the bottom of the window. Later, when you want to use the bookmark, return to the '"Bookmarks" menu. Locate your preferred page from the "Bookmarks" menu and click the item to return to the chosen web page. In this case, the bookmark will bring you to nces.ed.gov/help/faq.asp. Note: If you have the Windows version of Netscape, and have additional questions about using your browser that are not answered on this page, please consult either your software's help manual or technical support.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer: To bookmark the page that you are currently viewing, click the "Favorites" pull down list at the top of your screen and select "Add To Favorites." You will then see the "Add To Favorites" window. The title of the page you've selected will automatically appear in the text field at the bottom of the window. Click "Add" to add your preferred page. Later, when you want to use the bookmark, return to the "Favorites" menu. Locate your preferred page from the "Favorites" selection menu and click the item to return to the chosen web page. In this case, the bookmark will bring you to nces.ed.gov/help/faq.asp.
