EPA Office of Water Careers - Where You Can Make a Difference

Job Fair on April 21, 2009

The Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Water (OW) will host a job fair on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 from 8:30 am until 4 pm. OW is seeking entry-level candidates (GS-05, 07 and 09 grade levels) for the following positions: Biologist, Environmental Engineer, Environmental Protection Specialist (see description below), Economist, Financial Analyst, Information Management Specialist, Information Technology Specialist, Microbiologist, Physical Scientist, Program Analyst (see description below), and Statistician. Interviews will be held on-site. The job fair will be held at EPA in the Polaris Room, Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC (metro stop: Federal Triangle). Environmental Protection Specialist

Environmental Protection Specialists play a central role in planning and administering environmental programs.  Generally, they perform a variety of functions including rulemaking development and analysis of environmental policies and information systems.  There are no specific degree requirements.

Program Analyst

This series includes a variety of positions that primarily serve as analysts and advisors to management on the evaluation of the effectiveness of Office of Water programs and operations.  Some positions require an understanding of basic budgetary and financial management principles and techniques.  The work requires skill in application of fact finding and investigative techniques; oral and written communications; and development of presentation and reports.  There are no specific degree requirements.
