During your visit, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impression on the landscape of Zuma Canyon.

Dear Community Group,

Come spend a few hours with us restoring your local parkland! The National Park Service is offering a free community program – Planting in the Park – at Zuma Canyon in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. During the program, participants will plant native plants and take a guided walk in the woods. Afterwards, groups can bring a picnic lunch to eat in the shade of sycamore trees.

Download a flyer advertising the program.

We invite you to help us restore a piece of the park – it will provide habitat and food for local wildlife, increase the unique scenic value of the area, and reduce damage to the environment caused by erosion and fire.

The program can accommodate groups up to 60 volunteers – free bus transportation is available for groups of 25 or more. See the enclosed flyer and program application (on back) for more details. If you would like further information or an e-mail application, please contact us at

(805) 370-2314 or e-mail us.

In advance, thank you for your help, and we look forward to seeing your group soon.

Sincerely,

Alicia Langton, EcoHelpers Coordinator
