FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION Washington, DC 20554 September 10, 1999 Ms. Susan Eid Vice President, Federal Relations MediaOne Group, Inc. Suite 610 1919 Pennsylvania Ave., NW Washington, DC 20006 Re: Application for Consent to the Transfer of Control of Licenses from MediaOne Group, Inc. to AT&T Corp. (CS 99-251) Requests for Information and Documentary Materials Dear Ms. Eid: This letter memorializes the discussions which the Cable Services Bureau staff held with Mr. David White of MediaOne on September 1-3 and with you on September 8, regarding MediaOne's responses to our document and information requests, made at our July 28 and August 4, 1999 meetings and detailed in my letter of August 9, 1999. We had requested that MediaOne produce the responsive materials within three weeks of the meetings at which we made our original requests. At Mr. White's request, we agreed to extend the deadline for MediaOne to submit part of the document production by September 3 and the remainder of the responsive documents and information by September 7, 1999. At our September 8 meeting, you informed me that MediaOne would file on September 9, 1999, narrative responses to our requests for descriptions of MediaOne's plans and the status of its system upgrades and marketing to provide telephony and broadband services. You also agreed that, by September 13, 1999, MediaOne would file with the Secretary's Office, for public inspection, a letter identifying (preferably by Bates-stamp number) the documents responsive to each document request, and a list of the titles or description of all confidential documents produced. The Commission's review of the proposed merger of AT&T and MediaOne depends on the parties' timely, expeditious, and complete production of information and documents to support their merger application. We request that MediaOne supplement its production as any new documents and information responsive to our continuing requests are generated in the future. I also would appreciate your sending me a copy of all MediaOne responses to the Cable Services Bureau staff document and information requests on a 3.5" diskette in an IBM compatible format using Word 97 software. If you have any questions regarding these requests, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, To-Quyen Truong Associate Chief, Cable Services Bureau cc: Deborah Lathen 1 2
