Geologic, Hydrogeologic, and Biogeochemical Controls on Natural and Enhanced Degradation of Industrial Solvents in Fractured Rocks: Geological Society of America Field Trip

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) hosted a one-day Geological Society of America (GSA) field trip "Geologic, Hydrogeologic, and Biogeochemical Controls on Natural and Enhanced Degradation of Industrial Solvents in Fractured Rocks" to the USGS Toxic Substances Hydrology Program's Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC) Research Site, West Trenton, New Jersey, on Thursday, October 26, 2006. The NAWC Research Site is a field laboratory for multi-disciplinary research on the fate and transport of chlorinated solvents in fractured sedimentary rock. The field trip was a part of the 2006 GSA Meeting, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, October 22-25, 2006. The field trip included demonstrations of field methods for investigating the fate and transport of chlorinated solvents in fractured rock, and presentations on the natural and enhanced biodegradation of chlorinated solvents in fractured rock.
