Notch PeakFillmore Field Office offers a variety of recreational opportunities, ranging from hiking and hunting to sightseeing and rock hounding. Hikers, rock hounders and geology buffs may find in Notch Peak, Fossil Mountain, Wah Wah Mountains, Crystal Peak, Tabernacle Hill and Pavant Butte of interest.

Sightseers can explore areas such as the Great Stone Face (an eroded lava vent), Gunnison Massacre Site, Fort Deseret State Historic Site, Sunstone Knoll (golden labradorite rock hounding), Cove Fort, Clear Lake Waterfowl Management Area, and the Fillmore Territorial State House, Utah’s first capitol. The field office area also offers licensed hunters a variety of wildlife such as mule deer, antelope, chukar, and limited ringed-neck pheasants and sage grouse.

Whether you are an experienced hiker, amateur rock hound, well-traveled sightseer, avid hunter or ATV enthusiast, Warm Springs Recreation Area provides chances for travelers to pursue their hobbies and enjoy the rugged landscape.  Hikers, rock hounds and geology buffs can take in the astounding sights and terrain of Notch Peak, the second-highest limestone cliff face in the U.S. 

After taking in Notch Peak, visit the Wah Wah Mountains, Pavant Butte, Fossil Mountain, Crystal Peak, or Tabernacle Hill and its surrounding lava beds.  Warm Springs offers licensed hunters a variety of wildlife such as mule deer, antelope, chukar, limited ring-necked pheasants and sage grouse.  An array of one-day ATV trails is also available throughout the resource area. Marked ATV paths include the Amasa Basin, Cricket Mountains, Burbank Hills and Conger Mountain trails. The trails vary in length and difficulty and provide excitement and adventure for ATV riders of all ages.  Picnic areas are available at Painter Spring and Crystal Peak.
