The Fillmore Field Office has many special areas that offer visitors unique and outstanding recreational, natural, scenic, and cultural values.  These special areas include nine Wilderness Study Areas, two Special Recreation Management Areas, six Areas of Critical Environmental Concern, and two State Scenic Backcountry Byways and Backways.
