Public invited to attend informative meeting on BLM’s Milford Flat Travel Management Plan
On Monday August 25, 2008 at 6pm, the Cedar City Field Office, Bureau of Land Management will host a public meeting to answer questions and provide information regarding the implementation of the Milford Flats Travel Management Plan which will be in effect until November 1, 2009.
The Federal Register Notice regarding Motor Vehicle Travel Closure and Restrictions on Public Lands in Beaver County, UT was published on May 22, 2008. This order set forth travel restrictions now in place for areas currently undergoing rehabilitation. Under the plan, travel within the restricted area is authorized on designated routes. In addition, camping is limited to within 50 feet of any open road.
The travel restrictions affect 75,000 acres of BLM administered public lands in Beaver County, Utah managed by the Cedar City Field Office. Private and State lands are not included in the restrictions. This action is one of many currently implemented to prevent further soil erosion following stabilization efforts, allowing vegetation to re-establish.
