India's Daily Energy Challenge and the Road Ahead
Energy demand in India is expected to grow at an annual rate of 6% over next 10 years. Finding adequate supplies of energy to satisfy this increased demand is a significant challenge. The Indian energy sector continues to struggle to overcome chronic energy shortages.  A new era of solar awareness is beginning to emerge in India.  Both the private sector and government entities are moving toward the creation of what could prove to be THE most vibrant solar energy market of the future.  India’s visionaries are looking ahead toward turning barren wastelands into “Integrated Solar Energy Hubs” for the entire country.

Government of India Support  India Flag
India's energy sector has undergone a significant renaissance over the last decade as a number of new policies have created institutions & the government support that's needed to see projects through to completion.  Clean energy has moved to the forefront of India's energy generation, infrastructure & investment activities.  Increased foreign investor opportunities for BOO of RE based generation via joint ventures are gaining widespread support.  Most recently, on January 6, 2009, the State Government of Gujarat announced the implementation of the Solar Power Policy 2009 initiative.
