Privacy Program Privacy Impact Assessments The FDIC voluntarily complies with the E-Government Act of 2002. The Act requires an agency to conduct a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) when developing or buying an information technology (IT) system that contains personal information about members of the public. PIAs serve to ensure privacy protections are addressed throughout the development, design, and deployment of a system by providing an analysis of how personally identifiable information is collected, used, disseminated, and maintained. Provided below are an FDIC PIA template, a set of procedures for completing the PIA template, and a list of the current FDIC PIAs that are available upon request. To obtain a PIA, please contact us at Privacy Office, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, 3501 North Fairfax Drive, Arlington, VA 22226, or via email at Privacy@Fdic.gov.
