On February 6, 2006 ExpectMore.gov became accessible online to provide candid, easy to understand assessments of Federal programs. By making this information more accessible than it has been in past years, taxpayers can see which programs work, which do not, and what the Federal government is doing to improve program performance for next year. The website will help the taxpayers hold the Federal Government accountable for how Federal programs work.

ExpectMore.gov is a comprehensive website that includes assessment summaries about the nearly 800 Federal programs assessed to date. Each summary provides a program overview, some of the key findings of the assessment, and the follow-up actions agencies are taking to address those findings and improve program performance. Each summary also links to the full program assessment details, the program's website, and the search results for similar Federal programs. Access to Federal program information will help increase attention on the performance improvement efforts, and also allow the public to suggest additions to a program's improvement plan to help it achieve greater results.

The U.S. Department of Education is participating in the effort to highlight the availability of information on program performance. Visit the website www.expectmore.gov.
