Disaster Summary for FEMA-1442-DR, Alabama Declaration Date: November 14, 2002 Incident Type: Severe Storms and Tornadoes Incident Period: November 5-12, 2002 Designations and Types of Assistance: INDIVIDUAL ASSISTANCE (Assistance to individuals and households): Barbour, Bibb, Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Cullman, Dale, DeKalb, Etowah, Fayette, Franklin, Greene, Hale, Henry, Houston, Jefferson, Lamar, Lawrence, Marion, Marshall, Morgan, Pickens, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston Counties. PUBLIC ASSISTANCE (Assistance to State and local governments for the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged public facilities): Cullman, Cherokee, Fayette, Henry, Walker and Winston Counties. HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM (Assistance to State and local governments for actions taken to prevent or reduce long term risk to life and property from natural hazards): All counties in the State of Alabama are eligible to apply for assistance under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. OTHER: Additional designations may be made at a later date after further evaluation.
