Applications for 2009-2010 are currently being reviewed. Finalists should be notified by early May for interviews.

Please note: The 2009-2010 Teaching Ambassador Fellowship Program is subject to funds available and may be cancelled at any time.

Please read the Eligibility, Program Overview, FAQs, and Application Instructions carefully before you complete this application. Please note that only currently practicing Pre-K-12 public school teachers and instructional coaches/specialists are eligible to apply for this program.

Applications for the 2009-2010 Teaching Ambassador Fellowship will be accepted through March 16, 2009. All applications must be received by 12:00 midnight Eastern Time on March 16, 2009. No materials will be accepted after the submission date. Candidates for the Teaching Ambassador Fellowship must complete the vacancy posted through USA Jobs. Up to 25 Teaching Ambassador Fellows will be selected for 2009-2010-up to 20 Classroom Fellows and up to 5 Washington Fellows. Selection announcements will be made by the summer of 2008.

Applicants must obtain support from their administrators as part of the application process. The goal of this support is to foster collaboration at the school level and ensure open communication between participating teachers and their school leadership. Teacher applicants complete the application and secure the administrator support, as outlined in the instructions of the vacancy postings below.

As a candidate, you will be evaluated to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications required, and on the extent to which your application shows that you possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with the position as outlined in the narrative responses. Once your complete application is received we will conduct an evaluation of your qualifications and determine your ranking. The best qualified candidates will be referred to the hiring manager for further consideration and possible interview.

You will receive an automated response upon submission of your email application indicating receipt. Due to the anticipated volume of applications, program staff will not be able to respond to individual inquiries about your application status. Finalists selected to interview for the positions will be notified via telephone or email in April or May 2009.
